Which tube stereo to build or buy under 1500

Ill most likely pass for 800, I've read the outputs are pretty nice but there has to be a sweeter sounding amp in my price range than those right??
Edcor are nice but is there any other outputs that are still available in my price range that will beat eico? Or do the edcor sound better already?

Is there an extra zero on this?

So far, you aren't out of your target if $1500 is what you have to work with even if you buy high and have it rebuilt.

Not sure what exactly would fulfill your desires, but have you looked at Elekit?

I have thought about the TU8200dx, but decided to try the Nelson Pass designed Amp Camp Amp instead. Currently running a Dynakitparts.com ST-35 on my Fostex F120a SFRDs & love it. The ACA is paired with Fostex FF225wk drivers (supplemented by an Eminence APT-80 super tweeter). Swapping the amps between these speakers showed me that I don't like the bass from the FF225wk as well when driven by the ST-35, while the F120a sounds a bit bright when driven by the ACA. I also use an old Miniwatt S-1 (SEP) with the FF225wk, which is a very nice pairing. All of which is to say that I find amp/speaker combinations a complicated matter, and one where I don't know enough to predict what combo will provide the best results.

Cheers, Jim

People that have built the tube lab Simple Single Ended SSE amp like them. You do have to start with a blank board though and buy everything else. Uses one KT88 per. Channel. His 300B was fun to build.
