Which Wharfedale models have the same tweeter as the original W60 (Super 3)?

I was wondering about the Wharfedale W60. In the original model there is a box inside the cabinet with a wool surround tweeter inside. I think this is called the Super 3 tweeter, is that right? I want to find out what other if any Wharfedale models used this same midrange/tweeter unit. Can anybody tell me?

Okay, I found this information in the archives-

"A variation of the Super 3, which always had a red banded alnico magnet, phenolic spider and grey wool cloth suspension was used and simply refered to as a "5 high frequency driver" The cone itself measures 3-3/8" compared to 2-1/2" on the Super 3.

The "5" inch highfrequency driver used in the original 2 way W60 was not known for extreme high end extension but was very smooth and non strident sounding and certainly very musical."




I think I probably have the version with the 5" driver. So which other Wharfedales use this one?

The Super 3 was used in W2,W3,W4, SFB/3,Teesdale,Airedale,the brick corner enclosure and perhaps in several more of the earlier.
The Super5 was used in later models,like W60,W70(?)Dovedale II,Linton,Dalesman and so on.
And then the dome tweeter came in models like Dovedale III.
Seems logical,doesn't it?Just to add a little confusion(who said life was easy?):The Super 5 was available as early as 1954!

Super 3 was also used in the W90, two per cab.

I have a pair of the W60D with the purple fried egg tweeters and mids that look like a big Super 3. I have a pair of unnamed speakers from a stereo store in Kowloon that have the Super 3 with a (decayed) foam surround, and they have a similar 5 inch mid. I really liked the sound of the W60s ($10 from a pawn in working order), but didn't like lugging them around, at 47 lbs each.
