Which woofer would you pick for a 2.56 ft3 box?

Bought a pair of the Synergee Jump boxes, 20"x18"x16", 2.56 ft3, with the intent of installing some JBL 127H-1 10" woofers in them (purchased a long time ago).

Got to wondering if there are better current production woofers that would work better in this wood box?

Y'all got any suggestions?

While the JBL Le14's are not considered New models,
they are one of the Preferred woofers for the Popular DIY Econowaves.
can still be bought for Less then most any new production 12"ers.
Yea you will need to enlarge the 10" opening and probably install a 7"X4" port tube.
at 93 db efficiency you will probably need to upgrade the Mid/Highs and X-overs
sell the 127H's to offset the cost.

Sealed or vented? Do you have TS values for the 10" JBL woofers?

Either is doable. Modeled it in box simulator software as vented. The calculated port was 3” dia x 0.75” long. Here are the TS values posted a long time ago on the Lansing Heritage forum.

Ok, I ran your numbers in WinISD as a vented enclosure (QB3), but I get a vent length of 4.21" with a Vb of 34Hz, so I'm not sure how you got such a short vent length. F3's about 56Hz, and f10 ~ 27Hz.

I'll check the simulation tomorrow and get back. Memory may be failing me on the port dimensions.

OK, the is is where the 3" diameter by 0.73" long port came from. Based on the JBL 127H-1 woofer TS parameter inputs, SpeakerBoxEnclosure calculate a 2.67 ft3 . The Synergee wood box I have is 2.56 ft3 internal volume. Close enough to get started to building and tuning? I think so.

Fs = 31Hz, looks like you used 42Hz for some reason. I also tuned the box much lower @34Hz. With a Vb of 32Hz, the vent would be approx. 5" long. (see attached)

If instead of a round port 3" diameter x 5" long, wanted to go with an oval port 4.5" long and 1" tall (e.g., the handhold on the Synergee cabinet panel), how would the depth of this new port shape be calculated? Is it just a matter of keeping the port volume the same? If yes, I can do the calculations.

Edit: found a port length calculator for both round and square ports. It says a 3" diameter x 5" long round port would be a 4.5" wide x 1.5" tall x 4.38" deep rectangular port.
