Who has Vintage Marantz Amps/Receivers?

2285
2215B
2230
All have fresh bulbs and velum. The 2230 has had a full recap, the 2215 has had a couple of caps replaced and the 2285 has had nothing but a new power switch. I like the sound of the 2285 the best and the 2230 the least.

170dc Power Amp
2215b Receiver
2010 Receiver

The amp was totally recapped, sounds amazing. The 2215b has a very nice sound for such a low wattage amp. A warm and pleasant sound.

Not a wish list in the least,

Think I remembered them all.

This is just the working ones, not units needing attention!

If I'm not too late on this. 2270, just got it. Had a new 2265 bought in the 70s. I'm new to the site and keep reading people recapping. I played my 2265 over 40 years with no problems and never opened it. I'm not electronics savvy and couldn't recap myself. For people like me, are there good sources to have it done? Does it cost mucho? Thanks.

Here's my current list. Wish I had those nines...

Imperial 9

I think that's it.....

I just acquired two of them recently. A 1515 and a 2245. The 2245 needs to be serviced as it's not producing any sound although it does light up. Got it thrown in as part of a deal when I bought a Sony STR-V5

This is my first post having spent the last three years or so acquiring and restoring many vintage Marantz and Sansui components to be used in the marketing of my audio furnishings and accessories business. It has been a great ride, and other than the components noted in my AK signature below I also have the three TOTL tuners for this period. Namely; the 2130/2120 & 2110. Turntables include the 6300/6350/6350Q & 6320. My first unit was a 2330 (last of the blue-face) receiver I purchased so I could listen to my LP collection I had just pulled from storage. Once I heard the Marantz sound I was hooked. Will be posting additional pics in the future.

I attached a photo of my 500 on a 3" x 27" diameter cast acrylic isolation platform I made specifically for heavier amps. The weight of the platform is 72 pounds which acts to counteract the weight of the amp which increases the sound deadening characteristics of the acrylic.

Thanks to Big Tuna for a great discussion forum.

So far. But looking for a 150, some more Wc's for the 120, 250 and maybe a 2285B. Oh and a 2130 would be nice.

I have a Marantz 2238B and is currently with the technician for check up. I wish I was like some of the guys here who can really fixed their own system. I tried doing it but could not get mine running well. Oh well...hopefully it's not a major issue, otherwise, I will just sell it. It really sounds BIG!!

Whoa! What a beauty! You had best get the unit restored. I guarantee you it is in need of attention with many dried out capacitors inside of it.

Thank You! Do you think the power supply would be a good place to start? I have already cleaned the pots, switches, and the speaker relay.
I had to bypass the balance control ( I never use it anyway )
It is a very rewarding experience getting a 2385 back together and it works!!:thmbsp:
I cant imagine how this thing could possibly sound any better, I have a Luxman L-530 deep bias integrated that plays the first 15 watts pure class A, It sounds thin and cold at low volume (no loudness switch) compared to the 2385.

Cheers

Nobody's running a Quadradial 2240 adapter :D I have one on my 2230, and even though I don't have the decoder module (or any source material for that matter), it's kind of cool to run four speakers and play with the sounds you get.
