Who is the go to guy for Nikko repair

I picked up a Nikko Alph 1V power amp recently and when I hooked it up it immediately goes into protect mode. Is there someone in here who specializes in repairing Nikko equipment that can go through this monster for me?

Alpha I? Alpha VI? other? General area - shipping can be a pain and should be avoided if possible.
 
I highly doubt you will find anyone who “specializes” in repairing Nikko gear. You may find someone who collects it and has worked on it but that’s not really a boutique brand or anything. nikko is nice gear but its not like they were building special circuits in there amps that will require a “specialists”.

Your best bet is to find a good tech who is good with SS gear. Probably needs a recap, and good cleaning.

Nikko is still undervalued imho, it never had the distribution and numbers of the bigger names. They are usually very easy to work on, well laid out, and the service manuals are available. A good tech should have little issue repairing nikko gear.

This one might not be making sound, but going into protect means it's still working on some level!

I was going to have the OP tap on the relay while powered on to see if its just stuck, also cleaning of the controls could help too.

Id do a visual of all the boards and check for heat stress too!
 
For those who are into fm tuners, the Nikko Gamma V is very similar to a Sansui Tu-x1, if you dont have the money for a TU-X1 the Gamma V can reach the same level.
