Who is the manufacturer of this turntable platter?

Who is the manufacturer of this turntable platter? I can't recognize it, I took it with Pro-Ject P2.9. It seems pretty heavy. What kind of the player can it belong to? Does anyone have any ideas?

Hard to tell but some sort of 70s Japanese direct drive model. Not something that would work with your Pro-ject.

Is there a dark brown or grey coating on the vertical ledge near the outside edge? Can't tell from the angle of these pics.

Sony X-tal coating? That's where my mind went too. Can't ID it , though.

It might be from a JVC L-A55. That doesn't look like a JVC mat though.

RIZ GM 5010 with rubber mat from GM 4010/GM 7606 or RIZ Tosca 50 also known as Turandot GM7602.
Somewhere on internet you can see different mats on Tosca 50 turntable but original mat what come with this TT is same as on this picture. Before 30 years ago my friend have Tosca 50 TT what he and I together gone into local shop to buy them.

Probably yes. One of these same models from Unitra is made from RIZ (Radio Industrija Zagreb). They made many turntables in cooperation with Unitra from Poland and all these turntables have Unitra cartridges like MF-100/MF-101. On these past days many manufacturers from East Europe made own Hi-Fi equipments which is particulary from Unitra but all have different names as e.g. this turntable on picture which is "Altus P-100" from "hgs electronic" or in Unitra original name "Unitra Fonica GS-431".
This rubber mat is from one of lower TT models because that stronger models have rubber ring above edge on mat, lower grade TT have flat mat. If I good see on first picture, mat dont have rubber edge and platter is tinner then on stronger models.

Unitra Fonica, Lodz, Poland. The chassis was widely used also in USSR produced stereos and turntables, like Vega stereo set.
The rubber mat was used on other turntables with different platters, like Unitra Adam - a linear drive copycat of Sanyo/Fisher MT-6225 drive system, or Unitra GS-431, which was also sold in the West as Altus and Renkforce.
