Who's pressing these terrible records

you know, I had a few pressing quality issues at the outset of this vinyl resurgence.....a couple really glaring ones. But, call it my luck or whatever, I haven't had a quality issue with any of the 20 or so LPs I've bought new in the past year, and only one I can think of, out of maybe 40 in the past three years.

That's been my experience, no complaints. All through the years some pressings or masterings sound better than others, this is not attributable only to new vinyl by any stretch. You pays the man and takes your chances.

Correction: on the label it DOES state Sundazed but in very small writing. I just pulled it out and I'm listening to it now. It sounds great

Be careful. My Sundazed copy of Nashville Skyline sounds HORRIBLE compared to my original Columbia copy. I bought it because the original copy was somewhat worn, and was really disappointed. I play the worn copy.:sigh:

All my recent new vinyl purchases have been flawless, other than one, it was badly warped. The seller offered to replace it but claimed the whole batch they had was the same problem. They told me just keep the LP and gave me full credit. But it was one of the few items that I purchased that was not at least 180 grams or heavier.

I'm very careful on who's pressing I'm buying. I remember back in the day we had issues with reissues. It always boiled down to who pressed the record. Then some of the remastering isn't that great. But threads m me this are great because I had no idea about Dylan's Nashville Skyline. Thanks

That's just it. I've made out with eBait rated C+ pretty well in many cases just because they have the original sound. My records have been in way distant storage for 10 years now. So, for me, I just bot the HW 61 CD and have been happy with it. I have to guess what may be the best bet. Maybe re-issue, CD, used record, open reel, etc..

Good question...

A good answer would be to do your homework before buying re-issues.

Just because it's a re-press doesn't mean it is a worthwhile purchase.

Do your homework.
