Why was my post deleted?

Why did they delete my post ? Something about me trying to sell my speakers? I did not try to sell anything I was asking about speakers I just bought. I wanted to know did I get a good deal on them. That’s weird my first post and gets deleted. What a Great welcome ! Smh

We cant guess why it was deleted because we can not see your thread. If you want to know ANYTHING about value post it in the Dollars and Sense forum. If you want to sell then become a paid subscriber and post it in Bartertown. Read some posts in dollars and sense for examples.

By the way welcome and maybe click on the envelope or bell at the top right to see if moderator sent you a message why it was deleted. They are usually good about letting you know if you did something wrong, gotta keep the threads in order or things turn to crap pretty fast.
 
Did you try to post in D&S or some other forum? As @petes'picks points out, that's where you post anything about price/value. Here's the intro to D&S:

What's my gear worth? Check out this deal! Is this a good buy? All these questions and anything relating sound to a price have a home in this forum. No buying experience posts allowed !

Unfortunately a lot of Jabroni's join AK and their first post is looking for affirmation, a digital pat on the back etc with questions like "Did I get a good deal", "How did I do" etc then their real intentions show with "I wonder what these are worth", "Are these worth anything"

AK is not a Appraisal site nor does it offer Appraisal services so when the mods see threads like that it's usually an indication of a hit & run in that the new member is just looking for info to resell for a profit and more then likely they won't post again.

I'm not saying that's what you did, posted or were your intentions the above is just an example of what often happens here.

Welcome to AK, enjoy your stay and as was mentioned go over the rules just to give you a better idea of how the site operates.

If, in the course of discussing your new find, you mention that you may, or will, be reselling them, that constitutes an offer to sell, outside the Subscribers-only selling venue, Barter Town.

I'm no longer an admin, but the mods and admins are quite adept at enforcing the rules. You should have read them, before you clicked that you read them. If you did read them, and didn't comply, well, either way, thread deletion is the usual procedure. Recidivism is not regarded favourably.

So, did you mention that you were considering reselling them?

I think my first post was deleted almost immediately...I wrote something in the reading about reading forum and it should have been in the reading about reading about reading forum... :yikes:

A couple of points:

As noted above by others, any inference of selling intent constitutes a potential ad or offer to sell, which is not allowed in these discussion forums. All ads, buying and selling, belong in Barter Town, which is available to subscribers. Although your intent might not have been to advertise them for sale, such wording could cause another member to contact you with potential interest in buying them. So please pay attention to this.

2) Please also be aware that comments on moderation are not allowed in these discussion forums. You can start a conversation with any of the staff admins or moderators if you want to discuss moderation actions.

So that you don't run into any further issues I would suggest carefully reading Audiokarma rules, noting also that some of the discussion forums have additional rules for that forum.

I wasn't the mod involved, but I looked up the deleted post and you clearly said
"I want to re sell them also. "
So, a newcomer describing speakers he just bought and mentioning he wanted to sell them breaks one of the AK rules,
so one of the other mods deleted the post.
 
So, the OP's story (gripe) is a little different from the Mod's story (fact). Nicely done Mods ! :thumbsup:

In life, it's nice to apologize when you have made a 'mistake', a little harder when you're caught lying... but it's doable.

No flames or insult meant, but they just have one thing on their mind, and if we can help them turn their item into money,
thats pretty much all they want from us.

I see a lot of that on other sites as well. Folks popping in just to use a forum as their personal ad space. Oh well, to each their own.
