Wild Early 70s Hard Rock

lately Ive had an insatiable appetite for wild 70s hard rock. I know there are more people out there who just can get enough of that no-holds-barred blistering crackling energy of bands like The Who and Blue Cheer.

While chasing the sonic dragon Ive come across a few lesser-known bands that really blew me away, I figured I'll share a few here and hope that AK users could point me in the direction of some other wild stuff.

Jerusalem - This band sounds WAY ahead of their time, incredibly heavy, just ordered the LP

Toad - Hard rock bordering on proto-metal from 1971

Crank - Super heavy riff in this song, maybe the heaviest Ive heard come from the 60s!

JPT Scare Band - Totally relentless guitar in this song, i was HOWLIN' when I first heard it!

I'll post this one since I was just spinning it over the weekend. My friend Bob Arlin (RIP) released an album under the name of Robert Savage entitled The Adventures of Robert Savage Vol. 1 on the Paramount label in 1971. It's a great mixture of hard rocking guitar and psychedelic rock. If you jump back a few years from this albums release, he was a member of the power trio (1st album, 2nd album was a quartet) The Hook. Their first album is psych rock in the Cream/Hendrix vein. The second album added Dennis Provisor (Grassroots fame) on keyboards. Before The Hook, Bob was in The Leaves who released the blazing version of Hey Joe. I could go on, but I'm rambling on and getting off point.
