Will amp/receiver from Europe work in UK?

I'm looking at buying a vintage amplifier/receiver from Europe. Looking at a few and they're quoted as running at 220v. Does that mean they'll work okay in the UK and I just need to change the plug? Anything else I should be aware of? Any help appreciated thanks.

A lot (not all) of the older receivers/amps/tuners have either an internal or external switch for setting 110/220, 120/240 V supply.

Technically yes (also depends who you talk to, Euro sceptics and all that :para:). But where we use 240v and three pin plugs the rest of Europe is on 220v and two pin plugs. I just want to make sure I'm safe to use electrical gear from across the water, not knowing much electrical wise.
