Will Polk rears sound good with Infinity fronts?

I am currently using Infinity RS-325's as my mains with an older Klipsch powered sub along with an Infinity RS center speaker for my 5.1 surround setup. I have been considering getting Infinity RS-125 or 225's for the rear, but I have some questions? I know that you are supposed to match all three speakers in front, but do I necessarily need to go with the same brand of speakers for the rear? Do all five speakers have to match?
I have a chance to get a set of Polk RC65i in-wall speakers for cheap, but I wonder if they would match up sound wise. Can anyone shed some light on my dilemma? I will be powering these speakers with a Pioneer VSX-1017TXV-K receiver. Thanks -Tony

The "optimum" way would be to have the exact same speakers at all the 5/6/7 locations but for most, that's hard to do physically or economically. But that is the best way to have 100% voice matching when watching a movie, etc. For my 7.1 system, all of my 7 in-wall/ceiling speakers are the same brand/series so the tonally match perfectly and team up with a Sunfire sub. But then again, I'm not a huge movie person so I have 2 separate systems in my living room. I have Polk SDA's in the LR but don't want them tied in thru the AV system as they just don't sound near as good that way.

But you have to go with what works for you. I think it will be fine as they are similar companies as far as speaker designs. I mean, you're not asking about adding those speakers onto your HT system with Klipsch/Altec/JBL compression style speakers being your main speakers. That would definitely be a different tonal balance plus the efficiency difference.

I went ahead and picked them up. I figured that even if I didn't like them with my theater setup I could possibly use them in another room or even out on the patio.
I spotted them earlier today at a local thrift store about an hour before I posted this thread. I figured that I might be able to get them for cheap since they are small, don't look like anything special and didn't even have a price tag on them yet. So I just drove back accross town in hopes that they were still there and lucliky they were. I asked the lady behind the checkout counter how much she thought they might cost and she replies, "are they speakers?", I said yes and she says, "ok then $2.99". WOW is what I was thinking to myself as I gave her my discount card (this particular thrift store has a club card sort of like most major grocery store chains have) and then she proceeded to give me my usual 10% off on top of that. I walked out of the store with a set of speakers that I understand to cost between $150 and $299 for a grand total of $2.69!

This may be my best thift store score yet.

Anyhow, I am listening to them right now and everything seems to check out perfecly.:thmbsp: I can't wait to get them into a wall! Now I just need to figure out which wall.
