Will this DIY improves your sound??

Every time you cut a "better" cable, add solder, and another connector, and plug another connector into it, you take the "better" out of the "better" cable. A straight unbroken run of a "lesser" cable will be "better".
 
Every time you add another connector or switch contact to a signal path you add another (potential) point of failure and impedance mismatch. You may not be able to hear it (yet) but the more you add the greater the failure opportunities. A better quality connector or switch (or wire) replacing a poorer one may improve your signal quality, but the law of diminishing returns will diminish the money in your pocket faster than improving your signal path. The poorest quality device in the signal path controls signal quality most significantly. (See race care analogy in previous post).
