Windows for free? Microsoft toys with service-stuffed 'Windows 8.1 with Bing'

Microsoft is already rallying Windows for a price war with Google, and now it may be gearing up to call in some fresh troops to help combat the looming threat of Chromebooks and Android.

Late last week, the ever-reliable Windows leaker Wzor released screenshots and a leaked build of a curious new specimen: Windows 8.1 with Bing. Beyond the name itself and the improvements already expected in Windows 8.1 update 1, the images showed pictures of Internet Explorer and Bing Maps. The questions began immediately. What was this?

W8 already has most of these services it will be interesting if it happens .

+1 on paying to not have Bing anywhere in sight.

Have gotten used to W8 on my new PC at home. The 8.1 update is available but I haven't felt compelled to d/l it so far.

Other than a day w/o use where the OS wouldn't boot up following an update (and I had committed the cardinal sin of not making my own OS backup media), I have had no issues with the switch to W8 so far. I did however replace the entire system (monitor, printer/scanner, etc.) at the same time so there was no BS with looking for driver support on my older peripherals.
