Wiring diagram for Kenwood KR-5600?

I'm trying (as a rank amateur) to install a new rotary source selector switch for a vintage KR-5600 that is otherwise in terrific shape. Problem is, when I took the old bent and broken switch out, I thought I could simply match the colors of the wires on the replacement switch to the colors of the ones remaining inside. But they don't all appear to match and now I don't know which ones go where. I've seen wiring diagrams online, but none for this particular receiver.

Anybody got ideas that could help me out? Trial and error -- this is how I learn! Thanks...

Does that not correspond to your receiver? Or is it just too difficult to make the correlations with the switch wire connections? (It looks to me like it might be, to be honest - and I probably wouldn't describe myself as an amateur. I think you've set yourself a pretty tricky task. Good luck!)
 
Thanks. Yeah, the service manual doesn't help me because I can't tell one colored wire from another. I saw a YouTube video about this receiver and when the guy opened it up he said he'd never seen one stuffed full of so many wires. It's pretty funny. Check out the part that starts at 0:22

This 5600 is similar to the 4600 which I own. So I suspect the switch is identical. Over the next few days I will open up my 4600 and see if I can get good pictures of the switch.

Meantime, using the schematic, keep in mind that 2 (L/R) of these wires feed the amp and the other 2 are sources, am, fm, phono, etc. Trace the wires to thier sources and label them. Using a meter, determine where the 2 connections are that feed the amp, then look for the sources.

The tape monitor switch is part of this wiring as well. But the schematic should show that.
