Wonky Pitch control on Technics 1200 MKII

On one of my Technics MKIIs the Pitch is doing strange magic. At the center position it is at 0 but regardless of weather I move the fader up or down it only increases the pitch by 8%. No decrease. Anyone know if I can fix this without replacing?

The slider prolly needs cleaning.

I like Deoxit Fader Lube, for this job.

hello, i am having this exact problem. pitch goes up in both directions—not the “erratic” behavior that sounds more common. were you able to fix it?

Trying cleaning it first with fader lube/cleaner. If so no good, then you'll have to replace.

There’s a speed adjustment pot on the upper right hand side of the circuit board, VR301, that you can center the fader control with. Also the trim pot on the fader circuit board has a small amount of adjustment. Very hard to do without an ohm meter but is possible.
