WOO-HOO!!! First Shift Here I Come!!

After two years on second shift I am finally going back to first shift!! I got a promotion at work as our Ink Department Manager. This has been a long time coming. As of now I only see my wife on Saturday and Sunday. This is gonna be sweet!! This deserves some dancing bananas!

in my current job[and my previous one with the same company]i have never worked anything but days and never a weekend...i passed the five year mark just this past march...evening shifts and even graveyard shifts do have their advantages to be sure...but there is something nice about being on the same hours as most of the rest of the world...you'll learn to hate getting up in the morning,but will enjoy living like a "normal person"!!!

I ran Heidelbergs all my life, worked from 4c GTO, 2c MO, KORD, up to a 40in 8 color Speedmaster 102 with coater. When my health changed I went into printing mgmt, I ran the first Heidelberg "DI" installed in Eastern USA.
Loved printing, didnt like web so much and bindery was never for me but back in the day my PMS book and scale got a lot of workouts!!
Congrats on first shift................ now the boss is up your butt more

Thanks! I used to be in offset but have been in Flexo for the last 15-20 years in one capacity or another. I have done the sales thing, the supervisor thing and the plant management thing. Now I get paid to do what I love.

When my health changed I went into franchise mgmt and had 40 stores in a 3 state region to maintain, I had to wear many hats from pressman, salesman, quoter, typeset and even city council fights over the size of the sign.............always putting a fire out somewhere got old!

Looks like I start first shift the coming Monday. I am so excited. The hours are 6:00am-2:15pm. Home by 3:00, on the lake by 4:00, drunk and in bed by 10:00.
