Woofer question-New Large Advents / KLH 23

[Sounds Right]

Please clarifiy for me.....
New Large Advents--- 10" woofer
KLH 23--------------- 12" woofer

OR...
New Large Advents...... 8" woofer
KLH 23..................... 10" woofer...

Have read differing deals here....most seems to say Advent was 10" woofer in 12" cone, and the KLH 23 was 12" woofer....

The KLH woofer is called a 12" inch even though it's smaller, I think around 11 inches.

I believe the Advent is 10 inches.

Edit, I did some quick searching, and the basket looks to be 12 inches.

The original Advents were a 10" woofer cone in a 12" frame. That's why the masonite ring had to be used to bridge the gap between the frame edge and outer cone edge.

This was done to have a cone with an extended excursion for lower useful bass response while maintaining a cone size matched to the box size.

In the New Advent, the same cone was used in a new frame specifically made for the cone. Still basically a 12" frame (deeper than a 10" frame) but modified so the masonite ring wasn't needed.

Sorry, I don't know much about the KLH woofer but I think Glenn is correct.
