As some of you know I like to take my chevelle out to all the local cruises. Well its that time of year when the woodward dream cruise happens just up the street from me. For those that dont know it the largest one day car show in the world. with something like 1.7 million people and around 40-50,000 hotrods its a Awesome to say the least. Woodward ave was the main street drag from the 1950's through the 1970s. If you had a muscle car or were out to street race or pick up chicks then this was where you went. It died out in the 70's and now they do it one day a year for charity. Jay leno comes and host the parade and all that stuff. Alot of the 1950's bands like Martha and the Vandellas play concerts. This year Mitch Ryder Was the host of our litlte local towns Parade to kick off the festivities. Heres a couple of shots of a few of the cars from yesterdays parade. Yeah mines the Bright Orange beater of a chevelle. If you guys like and Kam does not mind I will throw some pics of some sweet a*s cars up for ya ll to see.

WOOO HOOO!

KEWL!:D I love cars! Those are some great shots. Whatcha running in the Chevelle?

If you want, email me some or all your pics and I'll put together a little thumbnail web page on my site.

Let me see if I can figure out how the heck to email these you another way beside one at a time. I was right at the turn of from the parade so it was kinda a pain to get shots that were not blurry. Then the skies clouded over and some of my shoots got kinda dark. I am trying to fix them up a bit. I know I am making excuses for my crappy picture taking abilities. Every once and a while I get lucky and snap off a good one. Oh and its a lil 350 bored .40 over with flat top pistons and a huge cam in my velle.

Nice ride Dave!

What have you done to "her"? Is it a holdover from your youth, a later re-build or did you buy refinished? We just bought a new car for the wife ('03 Blk Toyota Matrix XR) and we're doing a bunch of custom work to it (imagine that): Konig 18x8 Verdict's on 235 / 40 / 18 Pirelli p7000 rubber. I'm installing a "brake kit" this weekend and after the wheels are mounted we're considering adding an Eibach Pro-Kit lowering spring kit. Next weekend the "wrap-a-round+6" strip limo tint" and maybe some Momo titanium pedals. I'll post some PIXs as developments warrent. The upgrade bug knows no bounds...

Mike the car came to me in coffee cans on the back of a flatbed truck close to 5 years ago. It was not my first choice as I am more of a shoebox (1962-64 chevy II Better known as the nova) type guy. My brother inlaw had 2 chevelles and a 2 Novas for sale. The other two cars were way outta my price range so I bought mine in pieces for a song. It sat for the first year looking real saddly at me from the backyard. I finally scrounged up a buddy who did body work who showed me a thing or two and I started on the car. The body definately need more help then I could give it but I made do the best I could. Iyt looks OK but one of these day I will have to redo the Body but first I have to do alittle more engine work and get my 12 bolt Posi installed. I was hoping to get that done a click off a few mid 12's in the quarter this year but the money just aint there. When ya get some of that work done on your throw a pic or two up. Some guys dont care much for Imports but I figure as long as you dont act like your in fast and the furious with your hat turned sideway I dont mind :p: Living near Detroit theres not much love for imports anywhere here. I give a few of them the respect they deserve like the Type R and a few others but Dang I cant stand when the kids geta civic and drop a coffee can size exaust tip on think they can rip any V8 a neww A*S. Ok Im done now. Heres a pic of one of the few imports that was in the Parade. Hope ya like it. I sure did.

Thanks Dave

The Jags a beauty! We both love vintage rods and late 60's muscle cars (I remember, she's to young). And someday we would like to own one, but right now we have a family to raise and bought the Matrix as a much more practical - sport wagon - solution to the SUV we traded in. To make her happy we agreed to do some custom work on the vehicle. For now everything is just for show, but as new product is developed we may look into performance enhancement as well. Thanks for sharing... and understanding.

WOW Grumpy

I'd love be there with ya!

Sixties muscle cars are one of my biggest weaknesses. That 69 Charger R/T in the background of your pics makes me drool, BTW.

Keep us up to date on the Chevelle....... Jay:p:

Cars with performance, stereos with performance. The two go together.
Over at SHOtimes.com, some of the guys my age or a bit older have some super vintage stereo gear. Several of 'em were USAF and picked up gear for years and years and were often able to fly the air freight home ;)

In July the Americruise came through Lincoln and spent a few days. Better'n 30K turn out along the parade route. Got to see some real nice burn outs where I was (no police around :D )
A nice 'working' racer 66 Chevelle just flat laid a hard scorcher and about gassed us with the smell of burning rubber. Was it ever fun.

pete, love my SHO

Here's a few more. Damn we had a blast. It wasso crazy again this year. If you ever make a trip here you need to see this !.

Here's on of atleast 100 RT's we seen

Dig that sleeper look. Some day I will build one close to this bad boy :D
