Words cannot explaine how this makes a person feel

So I was browsing youtube and you will never believe what I cam across,

Its a sat I am bored browsing youtube looking at peoples hack job home audio setup and I found a guy that had a set of Polk SDA-2's but what he has done to them will makes any audiophile sick and enraged

Here are the videos in question

The first one makes me cry the most because he goes way past a safe vmax

Please don't go spamming him because your outraged as well if possible make a video response to one of his but it just makes a person sad to know that they could have been used for so much more and not branded with stickers also in one of the video descriptions he says that he upgraded one of the old mid range drivers and the one driver that sticks out like a sore thumb is also the one that looks like its been torn all to hell so no much of an upgrade id say

I won't watch the videos, I will get too pissed off. Some people are just idiots. Period.

It's their stuff to do as they please. It used to bother me but not anymore. If they want to wreck their ****, more power to 'em. Maybe they'll realize what they had when it's gone, maybe not.

yeah, but instead of those polks being manhandled by such an ape, they could be making beautiful music.

they dont make those anymore, so its a similar fate for them as if they were tossed in a landfill, which is where they will end up after that kind of treatment.

Want to have fun with these people? Send them some links to recent eBay auctions.

if we did that, we would have people on here within the week complaining about seized voice coils on their recently purchased polk's.

It almost brings a person to tears that they where made to make beautiful music I could be wrong in saying this but those to me are audiophile grade speakers and there being treated like a common set of cheep every day speakers

It makes me sad to see stuff like that destroyed, but it is theirs to do with what they want.

This is my video of a test run for my amp. Ran it almost flat out (didn't want to clip it). The woofers in my speakers were hardly moving at all. Maybe a 1/4" in and out. I don't get the need for such massive execution in a woofer (although for a sub it makes sence). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C88pTWrTX98

What he said. If they have more money than brains, so be it. There's a reason I believe in legal abortion up to the age of 21 (for the fetus) :(

He's 16. He probably bought the speakers at a thrift shop or found em on a curb with no understanding (hence no appreciation) of what they are capable of.

Stupid git, obviously has no idea and doesn't care about thrashing speakers! What a shame about the Polk's, they will be hammered to death I'll bet!:tears:

16? I suppose that some of his behavior could be written off to that, if not all of it. I would not expect someone 16 years of age to appreciate that sort of equipment. He's probably got the tone controls all cranked to the maximum, and is only looking for the loudest system he can put together, independent of sound quality. He only wants it to shake the room. He only understands loud.

I watched the first video, but have a hard time understanding the concept behind the 'see what my system will do' videos. If one's only measure of quality is speaker excursion, well, that says quite a bit in and of itself.

Someday, in probably not the too terribly distant future a pair of abused Polks will pop up on that auction site or on CL, or perhaps on a curb somewhere.

John

Actually, I'd like to hook some of these kids speakers up to one of my pro amps and watch them burst into flames from 3,600 REAL watts.

Yep.

It's stuff like this that folks need to remember when they start in on the flippers. I think it's far better that items get flipped to folks that can appreciate them than destroyed in someone's basement.

There's plenty of 1980s rack system speakers out there that can get fed to the blasters; let's hope the good stuff gets to a home it deserves
