World Series game or Pearl jam concert ?

My son who is in the Pa Air National Guard was asked to participate in the pre-game ceremonies on the field at Citizens Bank Park before game 3 in the World Series and then he could stay and watch the game . But he has tickets to the Pearl Jam concert at the Wachovia Spectrum which is the last event to be held in this pretty famous venue . Pearl Jam has the stage until 2:00 am and it is rumored that Springsteen and other big name artists might show up . He chose the concert . What would you do ?

do the pre game ceremony then leave for the concert.. :)..what is the pre game ceremony..a jet fly by, parachute down to the mound with some game balls..
 
How often do you get a chance to say you were part of the opening ceremony of the word series? I would do that, then rush off to the concert too..
 
in your case, world series. pearl jam will be around for a while longer... can't repeat that exact WS though.

every time i have seen them live has been a milestone or extremely memorable point in my life!
Hopefully Jeff Ament will have a hankering to come home to montana; we get lucky that way or maybe Eddie just likes it here too because every tour, they do a gig for us :banana:

wouldn't even take a moment of my time to worry 'bout the WS.

Go to WS - check out opening ceremony and maybe an inning or 2...then head to concert...assume big names will come out for encore of show...

He would be out on the field helping hold up a huge American flag . They are leaving for Philly around 7:30 in the am . They have an RV and a room at the Holiday Inn which is within walking distance of both places . He probably could do both but he chose to hang with his buds throughout the day and I`m sure he`s going to have a few beers and by game time he probably should`nt be in uniform in front of a national audience .
 
World Series. I can't afford to go to a World Series in either NY or Philly. Pearl jam? I love em but World Series trumps them in my book.
 
World Series, no doubt. How often is your team in the WS? Assuming you are not a Yankees fan, in which case $220M will buy you an appearance about every 3 years.

And add to that, the musicians are actually there performing for 'YOU' not just the $$$.

Sounds like this concert is the end of an era, the very last from a great Venue...
Watching guys play with a baseball COULD never be the 'spiritual' experience for me that a great concert in a great setting IS.

Dude , I hear what you are saying , but I understand what everybody else is saying too . For me it would have been a tough choice . Brent , my son, was a baseball player and is a fan , but he has had these tickets for a while and has been really looking foward to this concert for a while . It just came up the other day about the chance to go to the world series .It was just more important to him to see this concert than a baseball game . He just got back from Iraq about a month ago and friends and family seem more important than anything . He is a music lover more than a sports fan .

DAH! Hands down, word series. Who the hell is pearl jam anyway? And Springsteen, HA! who cares!
