If you are a rich collector who has a set of Renaissance speakers in otherwise perfect shape but missing the spikes, how much time and hassle would it take you to find another set of those spikes available for sale? Would it be worth it to you, to pass up on a set at this price, in the hope of finding another one soon for a lesser price?

The seller is probably hoping to find such a person. Of all places, ePray is probably the place where he has the biggest chance of success. So I don't blame him for trying!

That said, I wouldn't pay that much for those things. I'd use plumb bobs or something similar, until a cheaper pair came along. Then again, I'm not super-rich; I still live to a budget and value getting value-for-money.

I have a set of cones (feux gold) I bought for like $20, and STILL haven't put them on any equipment. I'm a little befuddled on how that set works. I see 3 spikes that would screw into a threaded female receiver (no receivers I guess they are on the speaker already) but I don't understand how the other 2 with what looks like a knob on the end. Do you screw in the 3 with the male threaded end I get that but what would you do with the other 2 that have the knob on it?

Cheers,
Bob
