Hello Everyone,
My first Post. My Name is Randy and i have built quiet a few Amps so far. (All KT88 SE and one 6L6 PP)
Im currently working on a KT150 SE Project and unfortunately already to late i figured that i might have the wrong OT? In the schematic is a Hammond 1628SEA which is a 5k OT, but im pretty sure the KT150 needs 3k?
http://projectgallery.parts-express...tereo-singled-end-amplifier-using-the-kt-150/
Is that correct?
I tested the Amp already, i expected more power but only had some lose 8OHM outside the speakerbox loudspeakers hooked up and it actually sounded not to bad, and absolutely quiet when i pressed pause on my CD and went full throttle on the volume. humming is so tiny, not even worth mention it.
But one thing is very weird. one of the BIAS meters stay's at 0 not moving while the other does at BOTH bias pots. seriously, that freaks me out because these two are absolutely NOT connected in any way. both channels are completely independend. I did not interchange them yet to see if the coil of the one meter is bad, but the working meter (left channel) should not move at all when i touch the BIAS pot of the right channel.
However, both channels sound clean, no distortion, no hissing, no humming.
If someone has an Idea, thank you!
More Important is the Impentance of the OT.
Thank you
Randal
