X Files Box Sets

My brother gave me the first 2 seasons of the X Files on DVD for Christmas. I've really enjoyed watching them because I hardly remember them even if I did see them years ago. They are standard releases, no 5.1 sound and the picture's a little blurry on my big screen. Still enjoy seeing them though.

This is excellent! My wife and I took in the whole series a while back on Netflix dvd.
At a certain point in the series it just literally takes off like a UFO. That's when Vince Gilligan gets involved and starts writing for Chris Carter.
I think X-Files is like the Twilight Zone, it's one for the ages.

I got the whole CD set. Probably should have a X-files weekend some time when it's snowing like crazy.

Fans of X-Files should check out Millenium.

It's also a Cris Carter project but darker and less supernatural. I like both series but Lance Henriksen and Terry O'Quinn makes this a favorite of mine.

Loved Millenium - Was a bit iffy first season but then it got good ...
I hated the way it just kind of ended ...
We were watching that final episode live - but didn't know it
At the start of that final show the announcer said "season finale" but halfway through all that choppy editing, he started to say "Series Finale" ...

One of my cats is named Frank. He's all black, (get it? Frank Black?) stand-offish, and doesn't trust anyone but me. :)

Sounds like fun! I enjoyed watching some of them when they were new, although they are often a bit far-fetched, and started getting really silly towards the end. If I ran across complete sets like yours for cheap, I'd probably pick them up for a re-watch, too.

I actually prefer watching old series when you can move from one episode to the next in succession for as long as your interest and schedule allow, rather than having to wait a week between episodes. I have several sci-fi series that I've enjoyed watching that way, and recently I've been re-watching Gunsmoke, but online rather than from discs (after listening to the entire radio series twice!) and am now up to season 16.

I recently got a complete set (all seasons, all episodes) of "Little House on the Prairie". I didn't watch it when it first came out, despite its popularity. I haven't even been able to get myself to watch the first episode. But one day, maybe... maybe! Or maybe I'll save that one for retirement? :dunno:
