XBox 360 Error 73

Hi, does anyone know how to fix E73 error code on Xbox 360? I have read it is an overheating problem, an ethernet problem, a cold solder joint, a harware failure.

I had this error in the past with my sons Xbox and cleaned the processors old compound and applied new thermal compound and it worked, for a while. now I have the same E73 when I turn it on. I've tried blocking the fans, applied new compound again, looked for any broken solder joints, cleaned the ethernet port, disconnected the hard drive, disconnected the DVD drive, all to no avail. Any suggestions?

E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port.

Thank you for the link. I wasn't sure about the ethernet port, as he doesn't use it, but I will try and replace it. Thanks again
