Yeah, kinda steep.

Go listen to both pairs, make an offer on the ones you like.

He has nice room to audition.
 
Hard pass on both. Those prices are insane.
I've had pairs from both lineups and while the cabs are great, the sound doesn't match.

There are plenty of mediocre sounding speakers with cult-like followings. Go by the actual sound, not Internet "experts.":)
 
I don't think the prices are out of line at all.

I owned a pair of HK4's from '64 that had sound quality as nice as other big name makes.
10" acoustic suspension two way w/ tweeter pot that could turn the tweeter off if needed.
 
Those are some mighty high prices. When it comes to determining the value of vintage speakers, I look at two things. One, how do they sound compared to other speakers in that price range. And, two, can they be resold easily at that price.

I have not heard the Fisher or HK speakers so no opinion on them. But I think more than $100 for any vintage speaker without a good reputation is too high. I might pay $150 if they are in great shape and sound fantastic and I trust that they were properly recapped. But I cannot imagine that these speakers will be an easy resell at such a high price. But the market in SD may be different than I am seeing on the East Coast.

I have two pair of Dynaco A-25 speakers. They are great $100 speakers. If the cabs and grill are in very good shape, they might be good $150 speakers. No way would I pay $350 for them. For $350 I can find speakers locally that sound much better.
