When, where and how much? Any further info??? I'd like to have this knowledge just in case I get an upgrade itch (I have been invited to a private unveiling of the Sonus Faber Elipsa at my local dealer) Dan D'Agostino is supposed to be there as well, the Krell guy, not sure what he has to do with Sonus Faber. :scratch2:

Plenty, ..... D'Agostino's LAT 1, then 1000 are modelled after the Amati's, ..... up to the grills too. The resemblance is uncanny, except for wood vs aluminium!

Probably was initially and now maybe he has his "own" design in the crossover, etc, ........

Jerry, since you are a Wilson fan, what are your thoughts on the Sophia II's? Some say that the original Sophia was the best speaker Wilson has ever built?

The XRT300s will be between 25 and 30K for the pair. Since the prototypes were shown at CES they have continued to develop and will be finished at a higher level than what was shown.

Thanks,
Ron-C

Thanks Ron. It's worth waiting to see and hear them before upgrading to anything else. I am willing to wait.

Hi Serge,

The first Wilson speakers that drawn my attention to was the original WITT. I never was that much impressed with the Sophia as a one to one comparison with the then WP6 shown the 6 to be way ahead (cost too).

With the Sophia II, seems to close the gap in performance on the 6 and thats why the need to come out with the WP7, which I am still very happy with inspite of the new WP8 release. Till today, apart from cosmetics, I could not find a strong reason to chase the 8's ... and that speaks volume on how good the 7 is ... STILL!

If you are thinking of Sophia (original or II's), my advise is - go get a used pair of 7's. They are way much better! Everything seem right! The only other speaker that could move me is the much more expensive Maxx 2 ... which is in another realm/level altogether.

Hope my little experience could help .......

Cheers!:thmbsp:

Well, I guess it depends which way you look at it. $30k IS expensive but it's 3x cheaper than the XRT2K.;)
