Yabadabado - It's the New England Summer Jam FrankenFest - Saturday June 25th in Clinton, MA

Let's start with this - someone left behind 3 CDPs and some power cords.
They were in the corner by where Baco99 was set up and said "not for sale - demo" on them.
Frank has them.

Actually, if no one has any objections I'll hang on to this stuff. In my shop environment having a couple of beater CD players can't hurt. I'll donate the receiver to Wheat Community Services.

Hard to believe that Pioneer DV-45 retailed for $700. Talk about the ephemeral nature of consumer technology...

I am such a goof. All that stuff I left behind. I will talk with Frank tomorrow...What the hell was I drinking? I think it was the frozen rum did it.

why couldn't your forget a Mcintosh amp or something nice like that on the tailgate of my Element? :)

As always, it was great to see you all. Looking forward to October.

Jcamero, you can, but having a venue that will support a large group is key. The first fest I attended was a summer event at a residence and there were about 15 people in attendance. The first (and second) I hosted brought about 20-25 people. It wasn't until I got the shop space that attendance ballooned. Being in a industrial building, nobody needs to worry about tracking in mud or bumping into a wall. Definitely helps to avoid marital strain.

Josh, welcome to Lancaster! Been here for going on 30 years, no complaints :)

Frank, please tell me (and us) about the amp you have driving your Altecs. I recently borrowed a pair of Bottlehead Paramour 2A3 SET amps from Mark Hardy and really like the way they sound with my Altec 604E's. I have almost all of the parts needed to build a Get*Set*Go SET amp that uses the very similar 6B4G tubes.

So what's driving those lovely Altecs of yours? Or I should say, one of those three sets of lovely Altecs. I look forward to hearing them again next time.

In the first pic W1Jim put up showing 3 disc players, the top one was the Pioneer elite a member bought off me. He must have forgotten it when he packed up his car. I don't remember what his name was, but he had brought his wife. He had purchased the DV-45a to replace his cd player with weak laser. Hopefully he doesn't live too far from Clinton.
Thank you Man, the best cd player I have ever heard on my system. You are a Mensch. I look forward to seeing you again.

Sorry I missed all the fun! I skipped out on AK since I had a long trip Sunday, but that turned into a disaster. Should've followed my gut and partied with this crowd instead.

Whose KEF 105.2s are those? I have a pair I might want to take down grill measurements for.

Well I was in Clinton today futilely trying to buy a Mustang. Nice drive out that way in the Miata with the top down.

Anyone interested in a dedicated forum here on AK for the New England Audio Club that didn't exist until I made it up while typing this message?

How about a "New England Audio Bank" where you can deposit really cool gear, have it be properly stored, then use the value of that gear toward withdrawing other gear that's in the bank. There'd be a code of conduct and a monthly fee to maintain the storage unit and some management of a database to keep track of all our junk,,, I mean great gear! The storage area could double as a clubhouse for meet-ups.

Hmmmm?
