Yamaha 801 too much for Vandersteen 1ci ?

Hello all,
I will be purchasing Vandersteen 1ci in my medium size living room. I will be about 6-8 feet away from speakers. Can you recommend a SS amp under $800? I was thinking of Yamaha s801 because it has rec out, (which I need for my external headphone amp) Unfortunately it has to be new.

Also a phono preamp!
 
I really like those Vandy 1 speakers. I don’t think the Yamaha is too much. I actually think it will make the speakers shine. I am a big fan of Marantz integrated amps. I have a PM8005. I am not sure what would be the equivalent of the A801, but I would consider it as an option.
