Hi,

So I'm looking for reasonably priced good capacitors. Since I started to revive my old Yammie.

Found a tech willing to recap it a while back so now it's working on Kemet caps. And sounds really good and lively. Except phono stage since it just started acting up so I think it needs a recap too. And since I don't need large capacitance there the price will not be as bad even if I will put something "audio grade" there, I guess.

The old caps are mix of Elna, Rubycon, Nichicon, Nippon Chemi-Con and Panasonic in this amp.

I was thinking about Elna Silmic II but someone recommended me Nichicon UFW too.

It's a fun unit. So I wanna keep it around. It really likes my Nagaoka cartridge :).

Need to work out the role/purpose of the cap in the phono stage then select accordingly rather than blanket replacement using
Nichicon xxx.

Phono audio path caps are generally low leakage/noise. Preferred replacements are MKP film (physically too big) next MKS film
or Nichicon UKL series. If you live with some low level noise(hiss) and want to improve(?) tones then you could try Nichicon KZ,
FG, KW or Silmic II's.

Bipolar audio path should be Nichicon UES.

Smoothing caps can be "audio grade" so again Nichicon KZ, FG, KW or Silmic II's.
Panasonics are fine, I'm under the impression that Rubycon was taken over by China so their quality control has slipped.
 
There is only 1 electrolytic per channel in the audio path for the phono amplifier. C123 and C124 2.2µf @ 50vdc BP

https://streamable.com/7fwvme it does this sometimes only on phono input - left channel only so far. Even with nothing plugged into the inputs. And its leaking into different inputs. Sometimes I hear it at night when listening to music on headphones - it's a recent problem. And there's this weird ground issue I hear every time its leaking into different inputs and I'm touching the Volume knob - like bzz sound. Are C123 or C124 the issue? Or am I supposed to look somewhere else?

Does the subsonic filter have any impact on your problem ?
