Yamaha amp, pre-amp?, tuner, CD player and Tannoy speakers

New member and first time post (so be nice). I inherited audio equipment and I'm not much of an audiophile. What do you think the fair market value is:

Yamaha MX2000 amp
Yamaha CX 2000 amp
Yamaha TX2000 tuner
Yamaha CDX2020 CD player
Tannoy PBM8 speakers

Why are there 2 amps?

All in excellent condition (9.5 on scale of 1-10)

The preamp is used to select the source (CD, tuner, et cetera). It controls the volume and other settings. The power amp drives the speakers and gets its signal from the preamp. Hopefully the manuals will show you how to hook them up. If not, a little research will give you the answer.

In simpler systems, the functions of the tuner, preamp and power amp are combined in a receiver.

Thanks, that makes sense!

That would be an excellent kit. Let us know if you get it.

A most excellent system. You ought to consider making it your main rig if you have even a passing interest. That gear is that good. And it looks great, too.

Many look at ebay completed sales to price gear but these numbers can be a bit high since it is a worldwide audience. And the bay and paypal take the first 13% and you might have to ship. This is better gear, special color and not common on the bay like some units with many representative examples sold. Might take some time to get numbers.

I'd guess all together, but priced individually, no system discount a couple grand, maybe but if the cdp works properly it alone might get a high 3 figures it is sought after by folks that have just the control amp, power amp and tuner.

I have the TX-1000 tuner, most excellent, but the 2000, same mostly except it looks great.

Why no turntable, that would be a sweet unit to go with those, too.

What audiophile wouldn't like to be on the end of that inheritance, TOTL gear. Lucky guy. Worth new it must have been a quite a few grand, now need to look what they are fetching, tuner could get up to $500 on a good day, I got a good deal on a T-85 tuner for $100.00 which is like the TX-1000.
Not like I need another tuner, but that TX-2000 is a nice one to have in the collection.

2 amps? could be to run extra speakers (remote) or bi-amp some hi's and low's with an active cross-over.
