Hello AKers, I have a Yamaha AX-390 stereo amplifier with a rather annoying problem. There is hiss from the speakers, equally loud on both channels and affected by the balance knob. When I crank up the treble knob, the hiss gets louder.
Turning up the volume knob also makes the hiss louder. The Loudness knob also affects the hiss. The bass knob does nothing.
What can I do to eliminate this hiss, besides pressing the CD direct button? The CD direct button totally eliminates the hiss at any volume, but I've been longing to have the same hiss-less sound regardless of source or setting.
