Hello! First post here. I am an American who has been living in Japan for the past 12 years. I bought a Yamaha B-2 a few years ago. It had LEDs and gold plated speaker terminals on the A channel. I paid about $100 for it junk because one channel had no sound. Deoxit fixed that easily! The only thing I've done to it is clean the inside as good as possible.
Anyway, I think the B-2 needs a checkup and needs to be adjusted electronically. The left channel is louder than the right channel so I have to bring the volume down on it about 30% to balance the sound. Also, when I push the switch to the B set of speakers, the left VU meter bounces around a little like it's still receiving a signal while the right VU meter doesn't move. The amp sound great overall, but I want to have it checked and adjusted to PREVENT any further degradation or possible damage.
I've been reading a lot and I would feel much better if I could take it to a shop who knows about the B-2 specifically. If there are anyone AK'ers in Japan who are interested in helping me, I have no problem driving to your location. And I will defintaley pay you a fair price for services and parts.
I live in Gifu city, which is about 30 miles north of Nagoya. I'm willing to drive anywhere between Tokyo and Kobe to have my B-2 checked / adjusted / serviced. I might want to do a full restoration sometime in the future, but for now I just want to check it.
Any recommendations for repair shops or AK'ers? English speakers prefered, but Japanese is OK too.
Thanks and hello from Japan!
