Yamaha B2 or M2 with NS1000M?

Had my NS1000M up and running for a couple of weeks now and really enjoy them. Moved them to a ~14x13 room with acoustic treatments, five (5) 2x4 acoustic panels: 2 behind speakers, 2 near first reflection points and one, lengthwise on the opposing wall. The NS1000M are on solid steel frame stands, about 10 inches from floor and a couple of degrees of positive rake.

Started driving them with a PrimaLuna Prologue One (35W) Tube Integrated, then switched to a 2CH Marantz SM80. The performance with the solid state SM80 is noticeably better, in fact excellent.

But, I would like to have a complete Yamaha set-up and looking for a 2CH amp of the same vintage as the NS1000M.

Considering the Yamaha B2 or M2. The B2 is often recommended but the M2 has nearly 2X the output. Haven't seen any NS100M/M2 recommendations. Also realize, these are two different amps from a design standpoint.

Anyone compared the the B2 and M2 with NS1000M? Interested, as I am leaning towards the M2. The CA2010 is a distant third consideration.

You can Google 'Yamaha B2 vs M2 " and can read a few threads.
B2 is well recommended over M2 for the B2 use Class A in the first few Watts while M2 cannot. These few Class A watts are very smooth and sweet sound quality. Here in Asia, the B2's worth 40-50% more than M2. Some said B2 is the Perfect match fore your NS-1000M

Thanks for the reply. I have seen the B2/NS1000 often recommended but not much regarding the M2/NS1000.
 
I've played both combo's. I've also played the PC2002M and NS-1000M. All are excellent. The B-2 is pictured by Yamaha paired with the NS-1000M for good reason. I'm tempted to give the nod to the B-2.
 
Personally, I'd say the B2 and NS-1000Ms, but I'd cut back on the tweeter and midrange outputs a bit (at the speakers) about 2 dB (or more to your ears). Frankly, I found a really nice match with a McIntosh MC240 tube amp and the NS-1000Ms...the amp calmed the tweeters beautifully.
 
Either amp would work just fine. I really think its personal preference at that point as they are both great amps in their own right. Mine sound great to my ears powered by a yamaha a-1.
 
Thanks for the replies. I am still leaning to the M2 or one of the pro variants I think the M2 is more of a conventional design than the B2 and therefore easier to service. I have yet to buy any vintage electronic gear that did not require "some work. Send a PM if you have one for sale!
 
You may want to throw a wtb add in bt, probably get more responses in there. I am sure someone on here has a spare yamaha amp for ya.

Three months ago i was exactly in you situation, i had m2 and didn't know if i should upgrade to b2. The difference between the two yammys is pretty big in favour of b2 of course. Pick up b2 and you would not regret even a little. I have tested both with cx-1000 as preamp, which i also own. Good luck with your choice.
 
I guess it depends on what your goals are.

A weenie B2 and it's fragile VFets would probably go up in smoke trying to meet the expectations my M-2 and P2201s have set. I enjoy my music loud and the M-2 has never disappointed.

I chose the M2 for my NS1000s because I didn't want to worry about unreplaceable vfets. I also have a CA2010. The M2 beats it.
