Yamaha C4 phone jack connector

Trying to replace a phone jack that has a cracked enclosure on my C4 preamp. I ordered a new one from mouser but not sure if it's going to work since it only has 7 pins. I'm not able to find one with 9 pins like the original. Is there a way to still use the new 7 pin version without loosing sound quality or function?

Thanks for getting back. I like the idea, but the old enclosure is much taller.

Front end of the old connector has cracked off and after multiple glue attempts I was hoping to find a replacement. I'll probably end up sanding the front down and fabricating something to make it work for now.

I've always wondered why they don't provide caps for the headphone jacks on these when un-used. Would we use them if we had them? Just a haven for residue.

Biggest issue is gorilla's over torqueing the hex nut..

you should check the schematics of the new jack against the C-4 one. Perhaps you can use/bridge the two dead-end pins on the C-4 PCB.

Thanks borchee. I did see these on ebay and might give 'em a try if my temporary fix doesn't hold up.
