Yamaha CA-2010 and CR-2020 Question

I have a CA-2010 on the way. I used to have a CA-1010 that I really liked but it was not TOTL. The power rating on the CA-1010 was the same 85 wpc as the CR-1020 so I always wondered how close the amp designs are.

So, is the CA-2010 related to the CR-2020?

Pretty much the same amplifier in both. Yamaha was not joking when they said that their receivers got the same design effort as their separates.

Thanks Merrylander! I was amazed how monster the transformer was in my old CA-1010 but I always knew I wanted the CA-2010.:D
 
Is the CA-2010 the TOTL for the Yamaha Integrated amps of that time? Isn't there a CA-2020, 2030, 2040? Or is that only with the CR series recievers?
 
What about the tuners... Was the CT-1010 the best Yamaha tuner for that period? The reason I ask is because I picked up both the CA-2010 and the CT-1010 last week with the manuals for a VERY good price. They are the first Yamaha pieces I've ever owned and I know nothing about the Yamaha line up. I knew the amp was good when I bought it but I didnt know it was TOTL. I can believe after having listened to it for a week though... It is a SWEET amp.:D

Man, you guys in the O.C. have it great! Congrats!! AFAIK, the CT-1010 is the TOTL.

Sweet indeed!

I have the same set up in my bedroom paired with a set of NS-670's.

The amp, however is going to get relocated to my office to get paired up with THE TOTL tuner, a CT-7000 just in from Punker X's, where it got some light modding (PS & audio path caps & an alignment). FM at it's finest... now if I can just find a little better content here in the Dallas....
