hello i was wondering if anyone knows the specs on the vu meter lites on a yamaha ca 810. i just got mine today and it works fine except the lites are out. i would like to replace them but i don't know the specs. thanks for the help. :scratch2:

They are 12V 60mA and the ones at Radio Shack with the short bare leads will do, even though they are T1 size and not T1-1/4. Just be careful removing the knobs, the balance control knob is held on with set screws (same Allen wrench as the selector knobs) so don't try and pull it off. When you get into the lamp circuit board those little black holders slide off the two pins, then you can unthread the old lamps and thread in the new ones.

thanks merrylander i will give it a shot. by the way has anyone you know replaced the lamps with led's. i wounder if they would work wouldn't the last longer and burn cooler? whats your thoughts...thanks
 
I replaced the lamps in mine last night and, like Rob says, those little black holders slide right off and it was very easy to re-thread the new bulbs in and replace them. The hard part was getting access to them in the first place. But overall I thought the whole process was easier than I expected. Now I have the CA-810 driving the Polk 7b's, with the meters lit up it looks as good as it sounds!
