Yamaha CDX-700U - Worth 15 bucks?

I picked up a free Yamaha CDX-700U cd player this weekend that needs a drawer belt. This would cost me around 14 dollars and i was wondering if it is worth it. It is mint and even has the remote. I have a CDX-910U and i love it.

Do it right. Then when you put it on eBay you can say "new drawer belt". Definitely worth the $15.

Since i dont plan on selling it i went ahead and tried the rubber band. I worked sweet!

The rubber band won't last as long as a proper belt, but it's an easy, quick fix to get one of those players going.

exactly! ('cept I found a huge box of rubber bands at the dump one day, so I saved the $2... all of my Yamaha CDP's were dump finds, too, come to think of it)

I repaired a friends CDP with the proper belt and no way did I pay $14 for it. PE will sell you loads of belts for that kind of money.
