Hey guys- I don’t know much about electrical engineering, so I’m curious if my receiver can handle the speaker set up I have.
I am currently running a cr-420 in my small city apartment living room, and I have it paired with B&W DM 601 s1 (8ohm) as main speakers, and my remote speakers are B&W 202i (4ohm). Am I going to burn out my amp if I run all 4 speakers at once? It’s my understanding that I can do whatever I want with the 8 ohm, but with the 4 ohm I should keep the volume low, and I should not play both pairs together, ever. The problem I have is, THEY SOUND SO DAMN GOOD TOGETHER!! Is there a way for me to get around this other than buying a new amp with more power and a larger heat sink? All advice is welcome. Thanks!!
