Yamaha CR-420 (or CR-66II) bulbs - 12V 60mA?

I have a CR-66II, which as far as I can see is a black faced CR-420. It's near perfect except all the lights were out, so I replaced them all with 12V 60mA bulbs, as some have recommended here for other Yamaha receivers. They now work, but it's very dim, even in a dark room you can hardly see the pointer light. Anyone out there replace the bulbs in a 420 and find them dim? What should be in there? 12V 100mA? 150mA? The pointer has only one bulb, and the single meter uses 2, and all three appear to be in series.

Thanks.

The Yamaha web site has the CR-420 manual with a schematic in it, and 12v 60mA is correct. Maybe they are supposed to be this dim? Any CR-420 owners care to comment? One difference to the brightness might be that the meter in the CR-66II has a black face with white lettering.

I only offer the 14v/80ma, at 12v it's 70ma and plenty bright!!

Yes, that's what I used in a CA-1010 (bought from you too!) and they look fine in there. I think it's the black meter background and black dial that make it look darker than expected. It's tempting to try bright LEDs in this reciever because the lamps are all in series and are supplied with DC voltage so I'd only need a dropping resistor.
