Yamaha CR- 600?

I have an opportunity to buy a Yamaha CR-600. it is in 8/10 cosmetic condition, the only issue is that the cabin has been refinished in black. The gentleme offered to give it to me for $80.00 but I am hesitant because I was unsure if it would be an upgrade on my Realistic STA-90 as far as performance, or if it would be more of a side grade. Let me know your opinion on which of the two would be the best bet!

Tough call, and I'm a big Yamaha fan.

Specs, for what they are worth, seem fairly comparable.

You could probably sand the paint away and refinish the case, the Yamaha's of that era were very good looking IMHO.

Worst case scenario is you buy it, you try it and let your ears decide which one to keep. You won't loose any money on the Yamaha and I imagine the Realistic has about the same value.

ya I dont exactly have a ton of expendable income at this minute... I would have pulled the trigger if it was a nice jump in performance but I figured they would be relatively similar... I do enjoy the Realistic, it has yet to fail me, so i guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
