Yamaha CR-620

Thanks FluxT. I will have to take a look on EBay to see what I can get. I’m trying to fix it so I can sell it. It’s in fairy good shape. The faceplate needs to be cleaned but the wooden case is 91/2 out of 10. I hope that after I get it fixed I can get a decent price for it. What is your thoughts on it?

Friend of mine has the CR600, and it’s a fantastic receiver in almost every regard. He’s extremely detail-oriented, and uses it with Micca bookshelves, an LP120, and a Massdrop DAC for one hell of a combo. The variable loudness is also quite the godsend.

Question: does yours make a popping noise when you go to turn it off? I’ve heard tell that it goes away when new lights are put in.

Remember that the lights on these things are incredibly dim. You can barely see them during the day. Still, they do burn out. IMO, the 620 is a great receiver, but they seem to have a general cap problem. I've yet to see one that didn't need a full recap to sound decent.

E-mail Dave at dgwojo.com. Tell him what you need and what your installing them in and he will kit you up with the correct lamps. ( 12v@60ma)
