Te Be or Not to be....where is my coffee!
Hi There, I have got on of these on the bench and my knowledge is not advanced enough to handle the behaviour of the amp.
When I first tested the amp with dummy-loads and signal generator en scoop. I just saw noise the pots and switches.
After cleaning the pot and switches I tested it again and after turning the balance from left to right the protection relay started to rattle of en on. I tried to set the dc-offset, but I could not resolve the behaviour. So I started trying to figure about where the problem might be.
First trail of thoughts: If the protection relay switches on and off then there should be "DC" and "NO DC" on the speaker output(s)....how do I measure that?
Second trail of thoughts: Maybe the protection circuit is failing to detect "DC" or "NO DC". I replaced 2 caps (c-901 and 902 in the protection circuit, and it looks like this was the issue. No rattle snake noises from the relay any more.
I started writing this post asking for help. But during writing I though let's just go for my gut feeling.
Just saying: "Better learning trying then always asking for help".
