Yamaha CR 800 power switch

I am working on a CR 800 that will not turn on, am looking at the component
soldered across the double pole power switch, a NSK 135 by Nissei C.
DC500/AC350, have not gotten a measurement across it yet, where to get a replacement?
What is it anyway? Does it suppress the thump, or protect from surges? Thanks, Tom

It is a spark arrester, basically a resistor and capacitor is series. It has no affect on the switch other than to prevent arcing of the contacts.

Having just restored a CR-600, I came across this circuit on the power switch (same as CR-800). It was failing and both "sizzling" for several seconds at power-up and dumping noise into the signal pat, especially the phono section. Just FYI if you have similar symptoms.

Welcome to AK. Are you saying that the spark arrestor itself was sizzling? If that was happening, then it must mean that the switch is also bad, because there shouldn't be any voltage across the switch terminals when it is turned on.

I'm probably mis-reading you, but I think one way or the other, the power switch is bad.

Thank you. Since I have a second CR-600 ( a rough but original parts donor) I was able to replace the switch/circuit unit. All good now.
