Yamaha htr 5990 speaker short.

Hello I am new here, my names Dray.I have a yamaha htr 5990.I took out the speaker outputs(board with 2 caps) Disconnected everything but relay powers(soldered on no connector).Dead short between positive and negative, the rectifier is good, the caps are good.I can't find the cause of the short, any suggestions.Also only that board has a short everything else is fine.If your wondering how it happened, well I connected a bad speaker(shorted).Output transistors are fine aswell.Everything is fine from what I can tell, except for the short across pos and neg.

So I lied, I didn't know that both sides had transistors and only checked one.the shorted transistor was on the other side.

So you found your problem.

If the transistor is an output transistor, it is best to replace them in pairs and also check the driver and pre driver transistors as a bad output can sometimes take those out down the line.

Did replace them in pairs, had to regardless, both had died, I hosted them a funeral by murdering them yet again.
