Yamaha m-45 vs m-60

I'm contemplating a Yamaha M-45 or M-60 locally to me.

I have a c-80 preamp, and a Yamaha A-1 integrated.

I'd probably run my topping d50s DAC to the c-80 and the A-1 to the power amp when listening to vinyl.

My speakers are klipsch KG 3.2 (don't laugh) I've upgraded the crossovers and the tweeters from Bob crites. Efficiency is 94 db at 1 watt 1 meter. So efficient that a homebrew class ab tube amp that was around 8 to 10 watts would blast my speakers.

My listening space is the living room of a two bedroom apartment, not tiny not large.

I'm into the idea of the yamaha M series power amp because of switchable class A. Yes, I heard a difference when I had a Yamaha R 9 with 10 watts of class A.

The M-45 has 10 watts class A,The M-60 has 20 watts class A.

M-45 is cheaper and has less caps to replace

M-60 is more expensive and more caps to replace.

Will the 10 watts difference really matter?

Will the m-45 and m-60 sound the same out of class A ?

Pretty much sound the same until you start pushing beyond class A. The M-60 has more headroom..

I've got an addiction, i keep finding cheap and free yamaha gear that i end up re-capping or repairing. Re-capping these guys seems easy, is that true, it's just one board it seems.

I have the same problem, but now I have to start moving pieces on. I'm at the precipice of becoming a hoarder....

I have a M80 on the way,(again), free only pay shipping, (it's the same one I returned for damage). He was going to toss it in a dumpster. I know, I'm a sucker.

I'm in southern California (los angeles area) and I keep finding stuff for next to nothing. My c-80 was free. My R9 before it died was free. My A1 was 40 bucks.

Dang, I wish it was like that here in ATX. Well, maybe I don't because I already have too many Yamaha projects. I just picked up an R-9. It's in Phoenix at a buddies house. Someday I'll pick it up.
