Yamaha mx1000u speaker issues

Hey y'all!
First time posting so I apologize for any errors. I recently found a complete set of Yamaha equipment at Goodwill and it’s all in pristine condition. I am using an MX1000u amp with a CX1000u preamp. My speakers are old Polk Audios that I’ve had forever. Now the issue: I am only getting sound from my left speaker. It’s a random issue though and I replaced the speaker wire but no luck. I also ran the wire into speaker B rather than A but it is still the same issue.
Any tips or suggestions? I love this setup and I will do whatever it takes to get it 100%

Dunno about that model, but some of the Yamahas have problem of cold solder joints where the jacks connect to the board. My C-80 did. Previous owner brought the M-80 amp to the shop several times to try to figure out the intermittent channel. Problem is, the problem never was the amp; was a cracked cold solder joint for one of the C-80 pre out jacks.

Dunno if that's the case here but FYI/FWIW.

I don’t unfortunately. It’s the only preamp that I have currently. I may be able to borrow one and check.

If you could come up with either a separate pre-amp or power amp. We could start eliminating possibilities.

You could use a phone or anything with a volume control and a cable to feed it into the amp.

Frankly, since the amp has level controls, you could connect a tuner or CD player or whatever directly to the amp and use the level controls on the amp for adjusting the volume.

I have a couple CX's on the bench as we speak. 1000 and a 2000.

2000 is a 1000 in a pretty dress.

I found the issue. It was the cable running from the out ports. I wiggled it and the other speaker came on. Thanks y’all. Glad it wasn’t anything serious!

It was the cable running from the out ports.

Hopefully its just the cable and not a cracked solder connection on the RCA jack. With tight fitting interconnect cables its very easy to fork up RCA jacks.

Yeah, no kidding! This reads like those posts back before GW started Shopgoodwill.com. I can't believe those made it to the floor. Just WOW!
