Yamaha Natural Sound YP-211 turntable runs too fast.

New Member
Just replaced the belt on my Yamaha Natural Sound YP-211 turntable. Old one was slipping badly. Now that I have replaced belt and done a bit of clean-up of the spindle and platter - it runs way too fast. The new belt seems very tight - could a wrong belt size (too small) cause this problem?
Speed adjustment lever appears to be working just fine moving the belt to the top on 33.
