Yamaha NS-1000 stands/ my kind of diy

Any other opinions? Is 16" really too high? After some internet research, I've seen anywhere from 5" to 24" high confidently stated to be the optimum placement. Ahhhh, the internet.

I do like the look of those L-brackets, but don't think I will find a pair where I'm currently located.

I would say 8 inches off the floor, tilted back 5 to 8 degrees is good for keeping floor reflections at a minimum and also to time align the drivers.

I have mine at 10".With a similar tilt.

Tilt! I had my set 24" up but zero tilt, aimed at ear height. Tweeters out. Out or in depends on the distance between; like Maggies, tweeter-to-tweeter distance is more important than woofers' distance.

Also, how did my black TT rack get there--and where'd my PX-3 go?

The first set is pretty much done. Now all I need to do is order some more steel for the next set. I hope you like them Dave. :yes:

Finally got the crosspieces gloss black powdercoated and the upright L-supports are at the powdercoaters presently. They will either be metallic silver or clearcoated chrome -which ever of those two colors he shoots next.

I love a mystery. The badge looked like you could just make out Sony. Sure enough a google search turned up what looks like the same model... or at least very close. ES SS-3300
