Those look like they've been driven hard and put away wet more than a few times. Hard pass at that price. No way something this beat gets any waf points, so you're either stripping and refinishing two cabinets or you have an expensive set of ugly basement speakers (that sound spectacular).

That is an easy fix!

Unfortunately that was a Police idea putting you Drivers License # on items of value.

My CR 2040 has a Driver's License # on the back, not sloppy, and I doubt I would have an issue getting coin for it.
 
I guess it all depends on the condition of the midrange and tweeter drivers. If those are performing in spec, I suppose the price becomes attractive. The crossovers can be dealt with, the woofers dealt with and certainly the cabinet dealt with. However, those beryllium drivers are a different story. If you have adequate watts to feed them and are willing to drive them at volume to expose their brilliance then they are probably a bargain in the current market. These, JBL L100's and Pioneer HPM-100 aren't my cup of tea but these wouldn't be commanding $2500 to $4000 a pair if they weren't coveted. I would have loved them in 1976 when the Rush 2112 album came out though!

I paid $30 for mine with rough top and bottom cabs that my lazy ass has done nothing with. Also there are the remnants of a studio name that has been sanded off on the back of each, but not thoroughly. Both easy fixes.

They are the best speakers I have ever found by a country mile!

I find the notion that the speakers in the OP's post are in rough condition and a pass absurd.

And they are far superior to HPM 100's, or JBL 100's that a poster mentioned above. I have had all three, and the Yamaha's blow the other two away.
