Yamaha NS-344 Veneer help

I bought a pair of yamaha ns-344 speakers. They are actually pretty decent sounding. My problem is that on the top of one of the speaker cabinets, there is huge, deep, gouge that is a ring shape. Almost like someone put a really hot glass on the top, and it bit through the veneer. Has anyone ever dealt with this problem and if so, how would you go about fixing this?
